Is the Mastercraft X Series good for skiing as well as wakeboarding?

Question

The site classifies it as more of a wakeboarding line (which my family wants to learn if we get one) but we all like to ski and tube already so is the X-Series good to ski/tube with? We were thinking either an X-80 or the X-45.

I wouldnt want it for a cross over boat. look at a direct drive boat that has tower, ballast tanks.. malibu XTI series. great for most wake boarders but has an awesome ski wake. goes fast for the type of boat it is and will pull tube, knee boarder...

The whole X series is really meant for wakeboarding. Skiing may be OK on some of the smaller boats but not on the X-80 or X-45. The X-80 would be by for the hardest to ski on because even many wakeboarders think the wake is too big. Both of these boats will also be poor at turning so tubing won't be great. Unless you are a hard core wakeboarder, I would not recommend these boats, go with the maristar series.

It is not a good skiing boat, average at best. Advanced skiers will not be happy since the wake is too big. It is an amazing wake boarding boat though. However coming from someone who is a skier first and a wakeboarder second, i would make a different choice. I think unless you are a pro waker boarder it is better to add a wakeboard package to a ski boat than to try to ski behind a pure wake board boat.



PS. I am not a huge master craft fan, malibu is were it is at.

That Boat is one of the best wakeboarding boats on the market but it is also extremely good for other activities such as (Skiing,Tubing) I have a friend that has a X-45 that is one of the best boats i have wakeboarded behind...trust me i have done alot of wakeboarding.we tube and kneeboard behind it its all around great!

Not the best boat for your family.



As mentioned, wake is not so nice to skiers, best boat that can be used for serious boarding, skiing, and other is by far the correctcraft. Get a crossover nautique or similar, you will love it more than anyone else out there with their $$ Mastercraft $$.
